EXPERIENCE CHANGE WITH
NEW LEAF THERAPY
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with 12 years of experience working with children, adolescents, and families. I work with youth and families impacted by anxiety, depression, and trauma. Modalities that I utilize are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, mindfulness strategies, Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, as well as Solution Focused Therapy.
Working with Autism Spectrum Disorders has become a passion of mine. I recognize the anxiety, impulsivity, and social struggles that impact the child and the family as a whole. I can assist with emotional regulation, anxiety reduction, social skills development, flexible thinking, and behavior management strategies. I utilize Michelle Garcia Winner’s Think social curriculum, The Incredible 5 Point Scale, and SuperFlex Curriculum.

A BIT ABOUT ME
Kristin Luce, LCSW
I received my MSW from the University at Buffalo in 2007. From there I began to work in an outpatient clinic serving youth ages 2 to 21, and their families. In 2010 I began working in a day treatment facility providing individual therapy for middle school age youth during their school day. I am a mother, a wife, and a dog mom. I believe that no one knows a child better than their parents, however at times we need a bit of support and reassurance. I believe that it does take a village to raise a child and I would be honored to be a small part of your village.
SERVICES I OFFER
With You Every Step of the Way
In individual sessions we will work together to develop goals that are meaningful and attainable. Negative thoughts and feelings will be identified and replaced with healthy cognitions. We will develop skills to manage uncomfortable emotions in a safe and socially appropriate manner. We can process past traumatic events in a way that feels safe and empowering.
Difficult life events often impact the family as whole. We can process the changes within the family and take steps toward healing. Family sessions can be held to improve communication, repair relationships, and clarify family roles. Behavior management is often an important piece when parenting a child with social and emotional challenges. I am happy to provide support and guidance in this area.
